********************************************** Original Quake 2 Map ********************************************** Author: David Orozco E-mail: do1997@interaccess.com (or drop by #qeradiant if you wish to talk to me,I am there alot My nick on IRC is Dave) Previous maps: dodm1.bsp, untitled map, I never finished it. Map Name: Screw Driver File Name: dodm2.bsp Thanks to: Wolfen for his cool QeRadiant webpage, Kron for everything he ever said about mapping for quake2. My brother for picking out one of the floor textures on my map, Thanks Marco! Robert Duffy for making a map editor usable by supercomputer deprived people like me. id, duh! And anyone who ever stepped foot into #qeradiant and gave me any ideas, thoughts, feed back or criticism about mapping. Editor used: QeRadiant Build 072, and 077. Build Time: Hmm...took me about 3 months to start a map I actually wanted to finish. But this particular map, start to finish, about 3 weeks. Compile Time On a P2/266 w/32 MB SDRAM QBSP3: About 71 seconds QVIS3: 327 seconds QRAD3: About 1200 seconds (Hard to see because the compiler console in QeRadiant moves very quickly when it finishes BSP, VIS, and RAD. Map Description: Small DM map, simple architecture. My first totally completed map. Single Player: Well, yeah, but pretty useless. DeatMatch Spawns: 10 (I think it's too many) Suitable #Players: Maybe like, 4 or 5. Anymore would be getting kinda crowded I guess. Known Bugs: The ladder near the hyper blaster, the left side of it breaks up when you look at it. I don't know how to fix it. Also one of the rocks near the river doesn't go all the way to the ground, so you can toss a grenade under one of the rocks. I could fix it, but I want to move on to my next map. How to play this map: Unzip the files into your quake2\baseq2\maps directory. Load your quake2 as normal. Then at any time, drop down the console by hitting the tild key "~" It's next to the Number 1 at the top row of your keyboard. Once the console is down type "map dodm2" without the quotes of course.
