An updated version has been making the rounds and is on cactus.org for downloading. The updated version was made with a program called Falcon Test Pilot that allows one to completely determine the flight characteristics of any airplane flying in F3. Many of the flight characteristics of the aircraft in F3 are terribly inaccurate, for example the Mig 19 is a super aircraft in F3, almost being able to compete with a F16. In reality a Mig 19 would stand no chance at all of getting a shot off at a F16 before it was downed. So, the updated airvars file has changed the flight characteristics of the Mig 19 (and most of the other aircraft) to more resemble their actual flight characteristics. These characteristics include: maximum sustainable g force, maximum speed, maximum altitude, radar capablilities, fuel capacity, climb rate, roll rate, types and amounts of ammunition carried, amount of damage that an aircraft can sustain, maximum weight, etc. (a lot of the characteristics I am not even sure of). The updated airvars file is used by people who fly Falcon Test Pilot aircraft competitively in Falcon 3 as a standard set of flight characteristics. Miles "Coyote" ------------------------------- From: "John Mathieu" Subject: Utilities I know that this has been mentioned a few times, but where can I purchase Falcon Test Pilot? I called Flight Sim Central and they don't have it yet and weren't sure when they would. Also, I had purchased the Falcon & Mig Commander utilities (The KCC package) for 3.02 from Keyboard Commander Corps and would like to upgrade them to work with 3.05 - but I've heard nasty things about them cashing checks and disappearing. Is there any place else I can get the upgrades? Thanks, John ------------------------------- From: Mike Downey Subject: win 95 have any of you guys tried using the disk stacket that comes with win95? it works great, but unfortunatley, when you boot up in msdos mode you have a 100k driver that sits in conventional memory.. unfortunately I havent been able to figure out how to load it high.. anyone else found a way around this? ------------------------------- [[ End of digest Volume 8 : Issue 22 ]]
