I'd have some questions about them: 1. What happens when you land -say on a road- and you are not at an airport? Is the plane considered a loss? Without an engine one can't taxi anywhere... 2. When belly-landing, how is the plane loss considered? I seem to have noticed that if you land a damaged plane, it is lost from the campaing but at the next resupply day you may get more planes. i e the mechanics fix the planes damaged? Is this true? Well, that was just a feeling. Then about strategic Falcon: Is it really really good? I am an enthusiasist, and I do have almost all the goodies there is. Bar Test Pilot and strat falc. The order-ware is so damn expensive and ackward to order overseas... As Falcon 4.0 is hopefully approaching, does StratFalc give you the additional boost? And if the authors/retailers of StratFalc are reading this list: is it possible to oreder it straight from you, and I'd get the program by the net? The postal charges are scary high today! Is the product a 'real' one, ie box and manuals etc? Or just a 'hacker ware'? Thanks. PS. The FLCS and TQS really give the sim a kick. Although it took me hours to reconfigure them, but now it is ok. The sticks are fine, even though their quality could be a bit higher considering the price... CH has a slight edge at that. But hey, anyway they are HOT! Remember to use them as in a real viper: LOW at sides, the grip is much better when hand comes a little high. The feel is great, even if the additional edge compared to two sticks isn't that big. - -- Tommi Korhonen *** *** tkorho@modeemi.cs.tut.fi ** "Long live the King" ** Physics & Something *** -Scar, in 'the Lion King' *** ------------------------------- From: primus@netcom.com (Robert keng) Subject: Re: ground forces Hi all: Hehe... Can't just give it to yas. Normally ground forces are real close to where da CAS waypoint is, especially if waypoint is hoverin close to some ground/air base nearby. If not then ya got some work cut out fer yas as I guess the sim also simulates how flakey intel is in RL (dunno if this is fer real, but oh well). Da waypoint could be off by as much as 15-20 miles from actual enemy ground force concentration is (happened to me in Kuwait once, pissed me off to say the least). Normally it should be within 5 miles of where da CAS waypoint is... Well, another possibility is that enemy ground forces were smashed already by some trigger happy random friendlies that just happens to be close by (happened to me a few times :p), or friendlie GFs already took care of them. Fargin sucks cause it comes up as a failure at debrief cause ya didn't smash any designated enemy units...
