Simon's tale of getting hit by the Tu-22's bombs reminded me of a reasonably embarrassing death I suffered a while back. Somewhere over Syria, I was making a bomb run with 8 Mk-83s. I'd put the target into the computerand was waiting for the bombs to release when some Syrian decided to protect his home and fired an SA-7 at me. I *thought* I'd hit X to cancel the bomb drop when I began to break but... I missed.... And to cap it off, I managed to break in such fashion that I wound up in the path of my tossed bombs. The forward view filled with bombs and my plane was destroyed.... Sorry, no VCR tape. (And I might be to embarrassed to send it if I had one, eh? 8^) ) Good luck - check 6 - and.... watch out for your bombs! :) James Sterrett jjsterre@acs.ucalgary.edu ------------------------------- From: David Britton Subject: New Around Lo one and all, I'm new to the Falcon game as well as the mailing list. I was wondering (since I didn't see an FTP sight for a FAQ) a couple of things. First, of course, is there an FTP sight for FAlcon 3.0 related material? Second, is there a newsgroup devoted to Falcon 3.0? Third, what the $#%$@! is FAlcCalc? Please excuse my dumb questions and chalk it up to an info starved new user. Also, to anyone using the Gravis Ultrasound Card, have any of you had problems with a system hang when you turn on the music? ** David L. I mean from the politicat points of view. Or do you just fly as one of the many in the Air Force? I have only as late as now begun to read all the campaing parts of the manuals, then I dug up some other books too and the real world maps. I noticed that especially I had orienting problems fighting in Pakistan district. The Korea is an agrressor attacking case, so it's is not a problem. The Kuwait war is clear, as the offence of Panama, the Kurillean is a little more complicated matter, as it should have been given off by the recent agreement, and then hostilities begun. But in Pakistan it looks a bit like interference to others business. Which the U.S has been doing some, but fortunately to the rest of World in minor degree. (makes me shiver though) I KNOW it is a game, and usually I don't give damn, but if I really get into role...which is the way it is the most fun. DO you ever think it that way? Perhaps the designer have succeedeed in some of their goals about showing us what's the war like... BTW, are there any different versions of F3MAPR floating around? I can't use the version I found at onion. And I'd like to clean the HUD from uninformativ text...
