Paal Krebs Holmberg yeah : the official SH line is that the two files are different sizes, and if you force one into the other, it overruns the space allocated for it : eventually causing the machine to hang. I've never had problems with it. whats your system set up ? using emm386 and dos 5, most people seem to get the loadhigh trick to work. My > question is does PAS-16 works with Falcon 3.0 under SB mode (and other > games in general) ? Or may be just get a SBP or SBP 16 ? I've got a Soundblaster Pro in a 486 box running OS/2. I've always had a problem of the game slowing down to a snail's pace whenever the low, deep growl (sidewinder?) is playing. So I turned off the sidewinder sound completely last night. This didn't make a bit of difference. It made a *huge* difference. The game is much more fluid now, no more fast update/ slow update changes. Has anyone else noticed this? Is the problem my config, or what? Would I have been happier with a roland or something? jim ------------------------------- From: ISSJXM@VM.BYU.EDU Subject: Re: Falcon3 Digest V1 : I36 I have the PAS 16 and I love it!! It works with everything since it's Ad-Lib and SB compatible. It's got tonnes of extras, too with the software it comes with. I don't think you'll be disappointed. -JohnM issjxm@byuvm.byu.edu ------------------------------- From: jkobach@copper.Denver.Colorado.EDU (John Joseph Kobach (W)) Subject: F115III on the way Don't get me wrong, I am a TRUE falcon3 fan, but I just received a mailer from Egghead which advertised F15 for $49.39 (with cue card, $55.00 w/out cue card). Although the ad said the product was not released at press time, they eggspect :-) the game to be in any day now. [[ The last estimate I saw was late November to be available --Jeff ]] Now my question to all of you avid falcon fans is: How many of you will go out and buy this "unparalleled" flight sim? I must say that after reviewing the demo, I was very impressed with the graphics, especially the neat plane, clouds, and ground graphics!! I have a feeling that it will just be another "fun shoot e'm up" sim with better graphics although the ad says it has 2 player capability, pilot/weapons officer interaction, and formation flying in a two-plane mode. I didn't get home in time to call to see if it's in yet but I'm sure I'll end up buying to make sure I'm not missing out on anything spectacular!
